ALASKA- The Great State- 2008 to 2010
50th year of Statehood- 2009

This page is dedicated to some of my experiences while working and living in Alaska- including Ham Radio operations. I lived in Alaska from June 2008 to August 2010.

The bank at Delta Junction in February 2008....neg 47....very cold when it's windy.... I have seen it at -63 degrees for days upon end, and wind chill below -80 degrees.

Thanks Mike for the picture!

Welcome to Delta Junction, 100 miles South of Fairbanks.

Delta Junction, where highway 2 and 4 meet (the Alaska and Richardson).

No stop lights in town- one stop sign!

W7RTX on the Copper River, AK. This is famous for the Copper River salmon the world over.

My friend Brian- next to the pipeline 25 miles south of Delta Junction.

The Alaska Range, 30 miles South of Delta Junction.

The always present moose (they're everywhere!)

Always eating our grass in the winter.

 Sunday....they're off to church.

Caribou- just 20 miles South of where I live.

 Grizzly

Always hunting for food. Notice the Grizzly hump on the back.

Bears feeding on a dead whale- Kodiak, AK.

How many bears do you see? (Hint- its over 30 in one pic!). Nothing goes to waste in Alaska.

 Spring Caribou
