W 7 R T X  about me....

W7RTX
is amateur radio operator Dave A Lange.
Below is a short history of of my radio experiences. I lived in Michigan, California, Washington, Colorado, Alaska, Iran, and Spain.

Washington State- KB7NKS. I was first licensed by the FCC in Washington State in 1991 as a no code Novice. The call sign then was KB7NKS. Soon later I upgraded to Technician and soon afterwards to General. I had lived in the Pacific Northwest for over 30 years. I have been working at the big big "B" (Boeing) since 1979. In 2001 I bought a beautiful house on acreage and the antenna farm started!
My current callsign W7RTX was granted by the FCC in 2002.

I moved to Alaska in June 2008 for my job. On August 20th 2010 my work in Alaska ended and I moved back home to Colorado. Since being here I have made a field trip up to Pike's Peak with my friend Bob WL7RV to the 9,500 foot level where we set up radio operations.

Colorado-
W7RTX. I moved to Colorado Springs in 2004. Unfortunately I am not on much land here for towers and large antennas. I use a G5RV at 25 feet. On some weekends I head up into the hills to the 9,500 foot level with my battery, the ICOM 706MKIIG and my Buddipole. The main rig in use at the home QTH is a new ICOM 7600.

Alaska-
W7RTX/KL7. I had worked in Alaska (100mi  South of Fairbanks) at Delta Junction from June 2008 to August 2010. I worked there for 7 weeks and return home to Colorado for two or three weeks- rotating back and forth. I had my portable antenna system and the IC706 up in Alaska to for portable operations. See some great animal pics under the Alaska tabs, for moose, caribou, bears, etc.
